Happy Earth Day!
What a way to celebrate earth day then with a recycling post. All about wine corks!
Everytime I open a glass of wine, I save the cork. I just don't have the heart to throw them away. At the current moment, I have an overflowing vase of corks. So what to do with all those corks is the question?
Well, Terracyle has launch the Cork Brigade. A recycling program where you mail in your corks, and they turn them into a cool wine cork board. You can also make one yourself using an old tray, glue and the corks you have laying around.
Another idea is using wine or champagne corks as place cards. It's such an clever and inexpensive thing to recreate. You can also use them for table or menu numbers as well.
My favorite idea of all comes from Anthropologie. They have some of the most inspiring store displays. And each location is different than the others. They do everything from dye them, paint them, and hang them to create such beautiful patterns.
To coincide with the displays, they launched a month long Earth Day Campaign with the Cork Forest Conservation Alliance. To promote a cork recycling program where they made beautiful displays using cork.
They are hosting some instore workshops this weekend on "Crafting with Cork". If your live near an Anthropologie store, go check it out. Also, you might get some decor inspiration to use in your upcoming wedding or next party.
